Harley Davidson XL1200
The project kicked off over few years ago. It begins when Thrive’s good friends, asked about the available Harley engine at that time. The engine in question is a 2000 Harley Sportster XL 1200, they’ve ordered it directly from the US along with a couple of another Harley engines. formerly the engine used to be their specimen for in house custom parts division called T.H.R.V.
After they shared the plan about the R&D program for T.H.R.V, the client is cool and fully support for the project. For the concept, thrive aimed for the design that could have the possibility of being timeless, the overall looks and the details of this bike was pretty much being streamlined to presented an image of sleekness and cleanliness. The form obscures the function to hide the complex working parts, and typified by speed lines suggesting this bike streaking through space.
Thrive choose a narrowed headlamp and the cockpit were minimized to achieve the sleek look.
The 1200 XL engine also had a touch of Thrive’s in house product, T.H.R.V. They made the air filter, chain sprocket cover, derby cover, and relocate the ignition housing.
Thrive sprayed the bike with Sapphire Blue and Silver Line over a Vaporized finished on every Aluminum parts and cover the engine with black Powder Coating.
Thrive kept the bike as a road legal ready by hiding some general feature like stop lamp under the tail and turn signal on the edge of the frame
